I’ve also created a map with EXACTLY where to I took these photographs at the end. These pins come directly from the GPS marker on my photos.

Buck Hollow Overlook

This is one of my favorite places to catch the sunset in the entire park. The mix of colors, hills, and greenery here is a fantastic combination.

Hazel Mountain overlook

The unique rocks, tree, and hills here make for beautiful photography. On a clear day, you can see so many smaller hills that are miles and miles away.

Stony Man Summit

This is the second highest peak in Shenandoah National Park with one of the best views. It’s an easy and popular hike up here, and and views are more than worth it.

As its name suggests, it’s pretty stony up here.

Map Coordinates: 38°35'54.7"N 78°22'24.9"W

Hiking Required: Yes, but it’s an easy hike.

Timber Hollow Overlook

Look at those layers of hills you can see from this overlook! Easily one of the most beautiful overlooks you can photograph in Shenandoah.

Big Meadows

The vast meadows in Shenandoah is truly very Instagrammable. I came here during fall foliage so the meadows were pretty red, but it’s also very popular year-around and I’ve heard many people take their engagement photos here!

Dark Hollow Falls

An easy hike for stunning views of waterfalls. The park ranger warned us that it was a moderate hike and slippery… it wasn’t nearly as bad as it sounded.

Map Coordinates: 38°31'08.5"N 78°25'22.4"W

Hiking Required: Yes

Hawksbill Summit

This is the highest peak in Shenandoah National Park and well worth the short and easy hike. Views are stunning, although this may not be the best spot to photograph fall foliage.

Hemlock Springs Overlook

This overlook offers a great view of Shenandoah’s greenery. Worth a visit!
