How Many Days Should I Spend in Procida Island, Italy?

Is a day enough time to get to know Procida, Italy?

One of the most popular questions I get about traveling are “how many days should I spend in ____; or is xx days in ____ enough time?”

My answer always starts with a question about their interests and travel style. It’s hard to give advice on this because travel preferences differ by person and by interest.

That said, I think I’ve put together a guide that will help you decide how much time you should spend at Procida Island, Italy!

Procida, Italy

If you travel for food and/or photography (Instagram can count as photography)… one day.

Procida isn’t that big, so if you’re here only for the shots, a day trip would suffice in getting the key standout photos of the island.

If you travel for food and/or photography + culture… one day.

I think you’re going to be able to get a good sense of the vibe in Procida just by walking around and chatting with the very friendly locals.

If you travel for food and/or photography, culture and history… two days.

Procida isn’t just a pretty face. You can visit catacombs and a former prison here and that’s just scratching the surface of this beautiful island.

If you travel for food and/or photography, culture, history and leisure… three days.

Procida is that island where you feel like you can kick back with a gorgeous view and chill vibe and your worries will melt away. If you’re the kind of traveler where you feel like you should always be doing something… three days may be too much for you. But if you’re the chill vacationer, this would be a great place to kick back.

Personal reflections: I wish I had more time in Procida. This place was breathtaking, relaxing, friendly, and it quickly and easily became my favorite part of Italy. I know I will be back, and next time, I will be spending at least three days here.
